Position Description
JACS is seeking a Grant Writer that can research funding opportunities, develop compelling grant proposals, and effectively communicate the organization's mission and programs to potential funders.
Responsibilities
The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding from private foundations, government agencies, corporations, and other sources. The Grant Writer identifies funding opportunities, develops compelling proposals, and manages the grant application process from start to finish.
Conduct research to identify potential funding opportunities from private foundations, government agencies, corporations, and other sources.
Monitor grant databases, funding announcements, and industry trends to stay informed about new funding opportunities and priority areas.
Evaluate eligibility criteria, funding priorities, and application requirements for each funding opportunity to determine alignment with organizational goals and programs.
Write clear, concise, and compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, and grant applications tailored to the requirements of each funding opportunity.
Ensure that grant proposals address all elements of the grant application, including project description, objectives, methodology, evaluation plan, and sustainability strategy.
Manage the grant application process, including tracking deadlines, submitting applications, and following up on proposal status.
Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and networking events to promote awareness of programs and funding needs.
Qualifications
Strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to tailor proposals to meet the requirements of various funding sources.
Proficient in grant management software and have experience in budget development and grant reporting.
Ensure alignment between grant proposals and organizational goals.
