Position Description

JACS is seeking a Subject Matter Expert - Proposal Development that can provide expertise in developing compelling and competitive proposals for funding opportunities.

Responsibilities 

This role will be responsible for leading the development of winning proposals and grant applications to secure funding for our organization’s projects and programs.

  • Lead the development of competitive proposals and grant applications in response to funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other donors.

  • Collaborate with program staff, subject matter experts, and external partners to develop proposal strategies, conceptual frameworks, and work plans.

  • Write and edit proposal narratives, technical sections, and budget justifications in accordance with donor requirements and guidelines.

  • Coordinate the proposal development process, including assigning tasks, establishing timelines, and ensuring that all components are completed on schedule.

  • Conduct research and gather information to support proposal development, including literature reviews, data analysis, and stakeholder consultations.

  • Review and provide feedback on proposal drafts and sections prepared by team members, ensuring clarity, coherence, and alignment with donor priorities.

  • Develop and maintain templates, tools, and resources to support proposal development and improve efficiency and quality.

  • Track and monitor proposal submissions and outcomes, and analyze trends and lessons learned to inform future proposal development efforts.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the grant proposal development process, including research, writing, budgeting, and submission procedures.

  • Possess excellent writing skills and the ability to articulate project goals, objectives, methodologies, and outcomes effectively. 

  • Proficient in project management to oversee proposal timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in proposal documents, including compliance with formatting guidelines and submission requirements.
